Christ Church Lincoln began on Easter Sunday 2025. We are a group of ordinary people who worship the extraordinary Triune God. We are made up of all sorts of people from different backgrounds and nationalities. We want to know God the Father, through the Son and by the power of the Holy Spirit and to live our lives for Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. You are really welcome to join us.
Minister
Ed Rowett is married to Hannah and they have four children. He and his family moved to Lincoln from York, where he worked as an Assistant Minister at Trinity Church York. He grew up in Scotland and originally trained as a civil engineer. He is passionate about helping people to know and love Jesus Christ. He’d love to hear from you if you are interested in finding out more about the Christian faith.
Elders
The Lord Jesus Christ is the head of his church and he gives his church elders by which it ought to be governed (you can find qualifications for elders in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1). The elders are to care for and lead the church and they do that by devoting themselves to prayer, to God’s word and to shepherding people. We also believe those elders should be local to the church. Our prayer is that the Lord would raise up men from Lincoln to serve in this way, but at the moment Tim Houghton from Derby and Matthew Roberts from York serve as Elders along with Ed.
International Presbyterian Church
The elders are accountable to and supported by the Presbytery (which is when the elders of all the IPC churches in the UK meet together). Christ Church Lincoln is a church plant of the International Presbyterian Church. The IPC was founded in 1954 through the ministry of Francis Schaeffer and has congregations across the UK, Europe and South Korea.
